COMMUNITY SERVICE & LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE:

Mr. Jones is active in his home church, Lighthouse Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA, in professional organizations, and in organizations for the Blind.

Phi Eta Sigma provided opportunities to both give and receive mutual leadership support on the Mercer campus as Mr. Jones has participated in group meetings and online growth seminars, member communications via social media, and attendance at the 2017 Phi Eta Sigma Regional Conference at Florida State University.

Through Mu Phi Epsilon, Mr. Jones supported his fellow music students by regular participation in monthly meetings, serving as usher at Music Department concerts, volunteering for Rush week activities, performing on piano for fraternity events, working a booth during the Joey Stuckey Alive! Celebration, and tutoring / mentoring incoming students seeking membership.

Mr. Jones has worked with the Georgia Academy for the Blind to deliver two Workshops on Music and Assistive Technology and on the challenges faced by the visually impaired in college.  He has also presented these Workshops at the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta.  He further initiated a Workshop with the members of the IT Department at Mercer University, demonstrating ways to make the college's website more accessible to the visually impaired, resulting in many of his suggestions being implemented campus-wide.  His Consultative Collaboration with a group competing in the National Braille Press "A Touch of Genius" contest led to the development and patenting of the InstaBraille 2.0™ for teaching Braille to visually-impaired Children in the BEGIN program at the Center for the Visually Impaired in Atlanta and other centers nationally.
